Getting to didacta 2018

didacta – the world's biggest (and Germany’s leading) education trade fair – will bring together teachers and trainers as well as government official, businesspeople and researchers from 20 to 24 February 2018 in Hannover, Germany. This year, didacta will be staged at a new location in halls 11 through 13.

Public transportation

During didacta, various trains operated by German Railways (Deutsche Bahn) will stop at the Hannover Messe/Laatzen station serving the exhibition grounds. From the station, visitors can take the Skywalk to the West 1 entrance. Alternatively, visitors can take tram/subway line no. 8 from Hannover central station (Hauptbahnhof) and reach the North (Nord) entrance in approx. 18 minutes. From the North entrance, shuttle busses are available to take visitors to the West 1 and South 1 entrances. For details on train connections, visit www.didacta-hannover.de . Please note that admission tickets to the fair are not valid as tickets for the public transit system.

Subsidies for groups arriving by bus or train

For didacta 2018, a bus subsidy (bonus) of €100 will be paid by the Didacta Verband, the Educational Media Association and Deutsche Messe for groups of at least 15 persons arriving by bus. To obtain this subsidy, simply send an e-mail by 31 January to busbonus@messe.de (using the subject line “Application for bus bonus”). The relevant application form can be downloaded from the didacta homepage. For didacta 2018, Deutsche Bahn (DB) is offering discounted one-way tickets at a flat rate of €49.50 (2nd class) or €79.50 (1st class) from any station in Germany operated by DB. For a fully flexible ticket, i.e. one not linked to any particular connection, the charge is €69.50 (2nd class) or €99.50 (1st class).

Car or taxi

If coming by car from north of Hannover, take the A7 autobahn in the direction of Kassel/Hannover to the Hannover Exhibition Center (follow signs to Messe). If coming from the east, take the A2 autobahn in the direction of Magdeburg/Hannover/Dortmund. If coming from the south, take the A7 autobahn in the direction of Hannover/Hamburg. From the west, take the A2 autobahn in the direction of Hannover/Magdeburg/Berlin.

Taxi stands are located close to the Nord (North) 2, West 1 and Süd (South) 1 entrance gates. The travel time between the exhibition site and the airport is about 30 minutes, depending on traffic.
