What is MFC?
The My Finance Coach Stiftung GmbH (MFC) is a not-for-profit initiative which works with young people (secondary level 1) to teach them how to manage their money responsibly. The initiative aims to help young people avoid unplanned overspending, and thus combats the rise in debt among this age group. As well as Germany, MFC is active in many countries, among them Argentina, Brazil, Great Britain, Indonesia, Ireland, Malaysia, Poland, Sri Lanka and Thailand.
What is the philosophy behind MFC?
MFC firmly believe that an understanding of how the economy works is vital to take part in our society. Therefore our aim is to get pupils in the first secondary level interested in the way the economy interconnects, and at the same time, teach them about finance. In doing so, MFC promotes a competent and self-reliant way of handling money, enabling young people, as responsible economic citizens, to think before they spend.
