In January 2018, Berlin-based publishing house Cornelsen Verlag will launch an app to provide visitors to didacta 2018 in Hannover with a clear overview of all publishing activities and events, as well as an interactive hall floor plan. However, the company is currently focused on a rather different project. The "Dein Song für EINE WELT!" ("Your song for ONE WORLD!") song contest is aimed at all young people with a passion for music - from soloists to bands and choirs. The competition is being run in preparation for the German Federal President’s development policy competition for schools and is open for entries up to 20 June 2017. Young musicians between the ages of 10 and 25 are invited to respond musically to issues relating to global development and submit original songs on the topic of ONE WORLD at www.eineweltsong.de.
The winning song will be decided by an online vote and become the official EINE WELT (ONE WORLD) anthem to accompany the eighth round of the German Federal President’s development policy competition for schools. What’s more, the song will be professionally produced in a studio (along with a professional music video) and will feature prominently on the upcoming EINE WELT album. Entries can be up to 3:50 minutes long and must contain at least one German-language verse or a German-language chorus. The song does not need to include instrumentation - all it needs are the lyrics and a melody.
